What Are SARMs?

The term or phrase SARMs is an acronym for Selective Androgen Receptor Modulators. Within the body, SARMs act as a full agonist on the androgen receptors. This class of compounds have a selective nature in how they target the bodies androgen receptors. As extensive research shows, these compounds have highly targeted anabolic properties. Simply put, the primary influence of these research chemicals influence lean muscle and bone tissues without touching other tissues prone to androgenic effects.

Two such tissues that are most commonly effected by androgen release are your heart and prostate. Anabolic Steroids in general are not selective when it come to what they effect in your body. After limited use, steroids will case non-life threatening side effects such as hair loss, lower sex drive, ache and hypogonadism, also known as man boobs.

One of the main reasons the medical and pharmaceutical industries are interested in SARMs is their ability to target specific areas in the body while leaving others alone. Over the years, medical researchers have used SARMs in conjunction with Testosterone Replacement Therapy (TRT) with positive results. It is in fact possible that in the future, TRT could be substituted with Selective Androgen Receptor Modulators because they do not convert into dihydrotestosterone, cause male balding, reduce natural testosterone production or damage your internal organs. The potential breakthroughs for current and future developed SARMS to treat some cancers and muscle consuming diseases is massive. Although this could be a game changer, it could be a years or even decades for government regulators and pharmaceutical companies to get new treatments approved using SARMs. These approval processes are extremely costly and by their nature, take a long time to come to market. Still, many SARM compounds have already been through human effectiveness and safety testing.

Numerous substances in the SARMs class have shown direct and indirect influences on other hormone compounds. This includes growth hormone (GH) and insulin-like-growth factor 1 (IGF-1) which are two anabolics released from the brain. SARMs are very divers and have many benefits. Some show signs as potential fat burning properties while others target metabolic rates and anabolic properties.
